Creation of Canada
We will outline how Canada was created and the British North America Act. We discuss the federal and provincial division of powers. We then discuss the Constitution Act 1986 and how the BNA was incorporated. Finally, we will review the Charter of Human Rights and what role it plays in application of the law.

How Laws are created
We will describe how the parliament of Canada and the Provinces create the laws. Then, we will explain the difference between Acts and Regulation and how the interplay with each other. Include a discussion about the different levels of court and their roles.

Common Law vs. Civil Law
There is a difference between Common-Law and Civil Law and we will describe how common-law works. Then, we will speak about the interconnection between Acts, regulations, and cases/decisions. We will then explain the general format of acts and regulations and provide insight into how to read them.

The Laws of Canada and Ontario
Here, we detail the different acts and regulations. We will deep dive into the acts pertinent to Paralegals and try to give simple explanations about what each section is trying to say and how it will applies.
